A Little Boho, A Little Wild West

A Little Boho, A Little Wild West

Custom Cowgirl Bedroom for a Young Woman

"A young woman’s room, shaped around the way she actually lived in it — with a little boho soul and a little Wild West attitude."

It started at the entrance, where an ordinary wall needed something unexpected.

This room was designed around a young woman’s personality, her style and—perhaps most importantly—the way she actually used her space.

The transformation began at the entrance, where individually cut strips of wood were arranged in an unexpected geometric pattern, giving an otherwise ordinary wall a little something extra. Across the room, old fence panels were given new life as the backdrop for a longhorn skull embellished with intricate white lace and adorned with silk flowers—equal parts rustic, feminine and wonderfully unexpected.

A live-edge cedar slab was transformed into a floating desk and finished with epoxy, preserving the wood’s natural character while creating a practical place for work, creativity and everyday life.

Then came the mirror dilemma. She loved sitting on the floor to do her makeup and wanted a full-length mirror that extended low enough to use comfortably—but she still needed a working closet door. The solution was an oversized custom mirror framed in a geometric mosaic of painted and stained wood, then mounted on barn-door hardware so it could slide across the closet opening.

The finished room balances free-spirited color, rustic materials, modern details and a little Wild West attitude. Every feature was made specifically for her—not simply to decorate the room, but to support the way she actually lived in it.
